History
The Back Page Shop opened it's doors for the first time on the 28th of November 2003. The shop the first of it's kind anywhere in the World specialises in Football Books and Football Souvenirs/Memorabilia and is ideally located in Newcastle Upon Tyne city centre. The shop which was a lifetime dream and ambition of Newcastle lad Mick Edmondson is situated on St Andrews Street in the shadows of St James' Park the home of Newcastle United. Football fans from all over the World regularly visit this unique shop in this Football mad city and everyone agrees there is nowhere else like it. A second shop (see below) was opened in 2016 in Gateshead's Metrocentre. In June 2024 we opened our third store, another one in Newcastle city centre inside the Eldon Square shopping centre.

The Back Page Shop opened it's second retail outlet in Europe's largest shopping centre on October the 1st 2016. Already it has welcomed Football Legend Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne, England's World Cup winning Legend Jack Charlton, Newcastle United hero Lee Clark, Liverpool, Newcastle and England Legend Terry McDermott, Former Boxing World Champion Glenn McCrory, Durham and England Cricket Legend, Ashes Hero Steve Harmison to name but a few who have all had book signing sessions with us. Manchester United legend Michael Carrick launched his autobiography in only 3 shops worldwide which included 'The Back Page' Metrocentre Shop.
The shop is situated upstairs in the Blue Mall near to the Bus & Railway Stations and Coach Park. It is without doubt the largest shop of it's kind anywhere on planet Earth, with over 2,250 Sq Ft of Football Books, Souvenirs & Memorabilia as well as the largest selection of North East Books & Gifts. As well as all of the licensed products The Back Page specialises in exclusive exciting designs in our massive bespoke range.

We recently opened our third shop in June 2024 in Eldon Square shopping centre between Mark's & Spencers & John Lewis (Bainbridges) on Earls Way. This store concentrates on official Newcastle United products, our own exclusive Newcastle United related designs and Geordie Souvenirs and Local Gifts.

The Website originally went online to coincide with the start of the 2006 World Cup. It is the World's largest Football Book & original Football site with thousands of titles. Stock will be added to the website on a daily basis as well as the site being improved and updated regularly.
